HANDMADE at DanceVacuum Posted in: Dance Performances

“Handmade” is a performance for how human beings can communicate with other people through their imagination and authenticity, interact with them and ultimately produce art and by extension culture. The gathering and exchange of ideas, the influence of the African culture, for example, on the Western consumerism model can give an idea of ​​how cultures can interact through openings that only art and the process of «handmade» can give. Through a parade of ideas and ideograms the choreography wants to approach the authenticity that stems from the handmade creation that brings us back to traditional values, strengthens the sense of «belonging» and meeting with the «other» self. Through a process of «knitting» we create tissues that like a modern Ariadne’s thread can lead us in new forms of expression and communication.
The performance was also presented at DanceVacuum Centre of Performing Arts from 10 to 25 of March 2018 and at the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens on the 20th of September 2018.
