SCRATCH Performance
Three dancers explore their limits through recurring behaviours, trapped in a state of existential self-encroaching. This is a form of community dance with simultaneous video projection involving amateur and professional dancers of different ethnicities. The performance is an experimental research on existential issues and developed through the personal experiences of the performers who have tried, through the dynamic of participatory experience and with the guidance of choreographer Vicky Vassilopoulou, to reorganize basic elements of their identity. The choreography was based on the psychological process of the dancers in real space and time – during the rehearsals, aiming at the emergence of a framework for a new collective reality through the creative interaction of movement and new media.
